Today is officially Love Your Pet Day and I can literally hear all of you screaming at your computer as you read this… But Deb, you are yelling at me, EVERYDAY<\/strong><\/span> should be Love Your Pet Day! <\/p>\n

Listen, I get it! You don’t have to preach it to me and that’s why I’m not going to do a post about how wonderful pets are. I won’t go on and on extolling their virtues, such as that they are incredible companions that provide us with undivided love, loyalty, companionship. Or that they can keep you happier and healthier by having them around! That’s right…it’s been proven that pets can decrease our depression, stress and anxiety levels. They can also lower our blood pressure and decrease the risk of heart attack and stroke. So rather than discuss what all of us already know, I thought it would be fun if you would just post a comment about some of the special things you do for your pet(s) to show them how much you love them. And even though this is technically a blog about cats, when it comes to pets, we love them all! Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and more! Share away – we welcome comments for all creatures great and small!<\/p>\n

Have a great pet loving day and to follow are some of the Top Ten ways I show my cats how much I love them!<\/p>\n

1. I love them by giving them their favorite Temptations Treats!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"pet2\"<\/a>

2. I love them by giving them lots of hugs and kisses!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"pet3\"<\/a>

3. I love them by making sure they have lots of great toys to play with!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"pet4\"<\/a>

4. I love them so much that I give them my whole bed to sleep on!<\/p><\/div>\n

\"pet5\"<\/a>

5. I love them by making sure that when they go to the vet, that they are able to travel as comfortably as possible in their Sleepypod carrier! And while they don’t agree, I love them by taking them to the vet so that I can ensure they are as happy and healthy as possible.<\/p><\/div>\n

6. I love them by making sure they have comfy pet beds to sleep on (courtesy of Cats Love Naps) and wonderful windows to look out of to watch bird, lizard, and squirrel TV!<\/p><\/div>\n

7. I love them by giving them supervised adventures in our fenced in backyard!<\/p><\/div>\n

8. I love them by giving them plenty of high and low spots to hang out on!<\/p><\/div>\n

9. I love them by brushing and grooming them to make sure their fur is soft and silky and to help eliminate potential hairballs.<\/p><\/div>\n

10. Last, but certainly not least, I love them enough to know when it is time to say goodbye and let them go to the Bridge with as much dignity and peace as possible.
