July 27, 2011 – Video Clip – Deb’s Interview with Nick Sacco of Pet Talk Radio

Nick with one of his cats, Katie

Okay – Bless Nick Sacco of Pet Talk Radio for his bravery. I told him I had never done a radio interview before, but he still decided to have me on as a guest today! Overall, despite me being a newbie and the sound of my voice, I think it went well! I really had a blast and Nick is a fantastic guy! If you jump in at around the 13:20 mark, you can catch the interview as it starts. There were times when I had difficulty hearing him, so sometimes my answers might seem a bit odd!! Whew…. did it and survived to tell about it!!

  1. I think you did a great job! I am listening to it while I am typing this. I think your voice sounded fine!!! It is hard to do these blog radio things…it is super hard to hear so I completely understand what you are talking about.

I think what also makes it hard is you lose the visual, people’s reactions etc.

When you go to Key West, everyone used to tell my Dad that he looked like Ernest Hemmingway.

I listened only til he took the break cause it was getting late. If i missed something super important please let me know!

    congratulations!

Thanks for listening in Caren – it was a bit long, so I can understand not being able to listen to it all!

That’s cool about your Dad – I’ll try to find a picture of him when we get there! xoxo

  2. Chris says:

I liked it!! You’re outfit is a big hit!

  3. CATachresis says:

Hi Deb, I finally managed to get it to work!!! I heard the introductory bits before it hit a buffer!! I have to sleep now. Will crank up the old elastic band again tomorrow. Great to hear your voice xx

  4. CATachresis says:

You are one busy lady, Deb. Great to hear you and all the best for the book when it comes out in the fall. I hope you are eventually able to give up the day job to pursue your dream. x

  5. Pam says:

Finally got a chance to listen to the entire interview and you were purrfectly fancatstic ! Such a natural, warm and friendly chat and a real “teaser” for getting people interested in the book. I do take offense to being lowered on the list of first-to-get-copies but will swallow my pride and easily give up my place in line to anyone who can help you as much as Nick Sacco can. Congratulations… and, well done. xoxo

    • Deb says:

Pam/Mom – It’s always wonderful to get a comment from one’s own mother! You can be assured a great review with no bias whatsoever!!! Glad you thought it went well – Nick is a blast and he made me feel very comfortable! I will sneak a book back to the top of the list for you – he will never know! Love you too and appreciate all of your warm words and support. xoxo

  6. George Beach says:

Good interview, Deb. It’s refreshing to see someone who is so determined to educate about responsible pet ownership. I wish you all the luck in your endeavors and continued life in a cat’s world.

  7. George Beach says:

    Changed my mind. Great interview.

    • Deb says:

George – I am very happy to hear you found the interview refreshing and informative. How I jumped from “good” to “great,” I don’t know, but, I appreciate the change in status!!! I really hope my book can finally give me a platform to have a greater voice in the cat world. Thanks for dropping by my blog and have a wonderful day!

  8. George Beach says:

The good to great happened at the discussion of people taking offense to an owner’s pets when visiting their home. Classic response with a touch of NY attitude. It was a terrific interview, albeit a long one, in which you could tell you gained confidence as time went on. And as you gained confidence, I found myself more enrapt and determined to listen to it all. Great job and much success! And as my Great Dane noses her way under my arm in an attempt to thwart my typing and take her out, I do have a question. Are you a weeble or a wobble?

    • Deb says:

Interesting response George! I used to live in NY, so I guess it was bound to show through! Yes, it was a long interview and it was the first one I have ever done, so I was understandably nervous and quite “green” to say the least! Not to mention, my android phone is a piece of you know what, so it was very difficult to hear Nick to begin with. Then, the background static made it even more difficult to appear like a logical and rationale human being as I tried desparately to hear his questions! Happy to have you on board – and to answer your unusal question, since I am not one who likes to fall down, I guess I am a Weeble! 🙂

  9. George Beach says:

Perhaps this will jog your memory: Down among the peaceful valleys, none has such reknown, as our glorious IHS, and the gold n brown. And so on. And for a first interview you did absolutely brilliant!

    • Deb says:

Wow…. wow…. wow…. Now that I have picked myself up off the floor, I can’t believe it!!!! How cool is it that we graduated together!!! How the heck did you ever find me on Nick’s radio show? And how are you?!!!
