The Top Ten Ways I Love my Cats for Love Your Pet Day!
Today is officially Love Your Pet Day and I can literally hear all of you screaming at your computer as you read this… But Deb, you are yelling at me, EVERYDAY should be Love Your Pet Day!
Listen, I get it! You don’t have to preach it to me and that’s why I’m not going to do a post about how wonderful pets are. I won’t go on and on extolling their virtues, such as that they are incredible companions that provide us with undivided love, loyalty, companionship. Or that they can keep you happier and healthier by having them around! That’s right…it’s been proven that pets can decrease our depression, stress and anxiety levels. They can also lower our blood pressure and decrease the risk of heart attack and stroke. So rather than discuss what all of us already know, I thought it would be fun if you would just post a comment about some of the special things you do for your pet(s) to show them how much you love them. And even though this is technically a blog about cats, when it comes to pets, we love them all! Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and more! Share away – we welcome comments for all creatures great and small!
Have a great pet loving day and to follow are some of the Top Ten ways I show my cats how much I love them!
1. I love them by giving them their favorite Temptations Treats!
2. I love them by giving them lots of hugs and kisses!
3. I love them by making sure they have lots of great toys to play with!
4. I love them so much that I give them my whole bed to sleep on!
5. I love them by making sure that when they go to the vet, that they are able to travel as comfortably as possible in their Sleepypod carrier! And while they don’t agree, I love them by taking them to the vet so that I can ensure they are as happy and healthy as possible.
6. I love them by making sure they have comfy pet beds to sleep on (courtesy of Cats Love Naps) and wonderful windows to look out of to watch bird, lizard, and squirrel TV!
7. I love them by giving them supervised adventures in our fenced in backyard!
8. I love them by giving them plenty of high and low spots to hang out on!
9. I love them by brushing and grooming them to make sure their fur is soft and silky and to help eliminate potential hairballs.
10. Last, but certainly not least, I love them enough to know when it is time to say goodbye and let them go to the Bridge with as much dignity and peace as possible. This is the hardest love of all and as a tribute to you, Mr. Jazz, I share this picture of my last moments with you in honor of the day…
I love my cat(s) by giving them a gotcha day celebration, making sure
they have fresh water, clean litter trays, the best food I can afford, a
healthy environment, room to run and play as they are indoor only, perches, beds
and access to the furniture for sleep or window viewing, grooming at least
once a week, as well as several of the things you have mentioned Deb…..
but I can’t bring myself to give them access to my charge card yet…=^..^=
Those are all wonderful ways to show love to your tabbies, Laura! Can’t imagine why you don’t give the gang access to your charge card… I can only imagine what charges Dai$y would incur!!
My should love me by getting me that cat tree.
That’s true, Cheysuli… perhaps Dai$y from da tabbies o trout towne could borrow her human’s charge card and get it for you…

Oh gosh… that kind of love is a full time job at our house, Random Felines!! Lots of stuff under our furniture!
I love my kitties by putting aside whatever I’m doing when they want a cuddle. Including not doing a post today because Leo was especially cuddly last night/early this morning when I would have written it. But his snuggles are more important to me than posting.
So are so right, Andrea! That’s why I limit my posting to only once or twice a week… it just takes too much time to maintain on a more regular basis! But the great thing about my kitties, they love to stay in the office with me when I am on the computer… whether on my lap, next to the computer, or napping on the floor next to me!
I LOVE MY KITTIES IN ALL THE WAYS YOU DO.ILOVE THEM BY GIVING MY TIME TO THEM.AND I BELIEVE TIME IS THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT OF ALL.AND I LOVE THE TIME I SPEND WITH THEM.
Nancy… time is the most precious gift we can give and it doesn’t even cost a time and you get so much love in return!

What a great post! I love my boy too although he is the wrong species…
My mum loves me in all those ways too. She also loves me when I bring the dead mouse in for her that I have been patiently waiting to catch, and she tells me I am a good boy. She even loves me enough when I bring in live mousies and let them escape, to crawl around on the floor and catch them when they run under the computer desk so I can sit back and watch her. She doesn’t love me enough to give them back to me though.
