Nominate Your Favorite Shelter for a Chance to Win $250.00 in Zee & Zoey’s “Calendar Contest for a Cause” Sponsored by PetCareRx and Giveaway!

As most of you know by now, we just adopted a rescue, our little Kizmet, who has blessed our lives in ways we never imagined possible. We wish that every kitty could be adopted and have a furever home, but until that happens, it makes us feel good to know we have an opportunity to help a shelter by providing a $250.00 donation courtesy of the very generous folks at PetCareRx! The clock is ticking to help out – the contest ends at midnight, PST, Tuesday, December 11th and all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling us what shelter or rescue organization you want to nominate(501c3 U.S. shelters only) and you will be entered to win the random drawing !!

To make it more fun, we decided to tie the contest in with Zee & Zoey’s 2013 Wall Calendar that we designed featuring some of our favorite photos and cat quotes – just go over to our Zazzle Boutique and take a look at Zee & Zoey’s Calendar that is on the second row of our home page and click on it – a window will open up so that you can look at each month in detail. Then, all you need to do is pick out your favorite month and come back to the blog and CLICK HERE TO VOTE for it! Granted, that is easier said than done, because each month is so beautiful, but we can’t help that! Then,  for whichever month wins, PetCareRx.com will donate the  $250.00 to winning rescue and then it will be presented to them on that month on your behalf (we all know that no matter what the month is, a financial donation is greatly appreciated).

Best of luck to all the nominees and thank you to all the wonderful, giving, and devoted people who give tirelessy to helping these shelters run on a daily basis. A special thank you as well to PetCareRx.com  for sponsoring this contest for their kindness and generosity. 1. Rosemary says:

I nominate CARE feline TNR in Orlando. They were instrumental in bailing out, fostering, and relocating all the Loew’s cats that were brutally removed last summer. They are a group of devoted and tireless volunteers who advocate for, trap, feed, and often bail out and relocate cats in a wide area of Orlando. Volunteers do the work and the feeding, and many kittens and tame cats are adopted out. They work 365 days a year. Cats don’t know about holidays and must be fed no matter what.

  2. Judi Daly says:

I nominate Stay a While Cat shelter on North Royalton, OH. It is a cageless shelter. I got my last two cats there. My sister and I are going there this weekend to pick cats out to sponsor. It is a wonderful shelter.

  3. Cory says:

I nominate United Paws of Tillamook. They saved me and my momma Ellie and they continue to provide TNR and foster care for so many homeless kitties.

  4. Linda says:

Purrfect Pals cat shelter in Arlington, WA. They are a no kill cat rescue and shelter. They help many special needs cats and rescue cats from death row at over crowded shelters. They have a spay neuter clinic on site and provide spay neuter for feral cats and low income pet cats. All Purrfect Pals cats are spay/neutered.

  5. Jacqui says:

I would like to nominate THE CAT HOUSE ON THE KINGS for their tireless efforts in providing care, TLC, adoption & T-N-R of feral cats & a SAFE haven for tbose animals who never find their furrever homes.

  6. da tabbies o trout towne says:

  7. I’d like to nominate Great Plains SPCA, a great no-kill shelter in Kansas!

  8. Average Jane says:

I’d like to nominate Kansas City Pet Project http://kcpetproject.org/ in honor of Sir Charles Buttonsworth and Kizzy (formerly Kismet), two cats that a friend of mine adopted from there last week.

  9. Deb says:

I nominate the Animal Rescue Foundation in Terryville, CT. They just reopened this year after a fire destroyed the old shelter a few years back. It is an all volunteer shelter and is still raising money to finished the construction of the upper level. A lot of caring and hard working volunteers make this shelter a loving temporary home for many cats & dogs.

  10. I nominate All About Animals Rescue of Warren, MI. They provide low-cost spaying, neutering, vaccinations and dental care. They partner with Oakland County, MI to train those who wish to manage feral cat colonies, including the practice of TNR. They have monthly TNR workshops. All About Animals Rescue has a bus that serves as a mobile clinic, a pet support hotline, and they have cats and dogs for adoption. http://www.allaboutanimalsrescue.org/

  11. Tia Williams says:

I nominate Smitten With Kittens in Miami, FL. There are an estimated 500,000-800,000 feral cats in Miami. Because it’s warm year round, kitten season is nonstop. They save as many as they can because the county shelter has a 90 % euthanasia rate for ferals and 60% for kittens. They practice TNR, have 2 adoption centers, and worked with other local rescues to pass the Pets Trust at the recent election. They are doing everything possible to turn Miami from one of the worst places for cats to one of the best.

  12. Margaret says:

I nominate PURR of WV, the voice of no kill getting louder and stronger for our state. No small feat

  13. Amanda says:

I second the nomination for Smitten With Kittens! They are the rescue that Miami needs in order to turn things around for the hundreds of thousands of kittens and cats that can’t speak for themselves.

  14. meowmeowmans says:

This is so wonderful of you and PetCareRx! We nominate PAWS of Norwalk, CT! 🙂

That February picture makes us smile real big!

    Hugs!
