Every cat deserves his or her day in the sun!! Bring on the weird and it could happen for yours!

If cats live seven years to our one, does that mean when it comes to their 15 minutes of fame, they actually get 105? I ponder weird things like that, which is probably why I’m so excited about my upcoming book about the weird, strange, and silly habits/behaviors of cats, along with the weird, strange, and silly habits/behaviors of the humans who love them. If you’d like your cat to have his or her 105 minutes of fame, this is the last chance to submit entries for possible consideration in the book!

Thus far the submissions have been great – thank you – you’ve really given me lots of laughs and smiles and I’m loving the participation! Everyone has shared something different, but the one thing all the entries have in common is that we clearly love cats!

So don’t delay – put on those thinking cats and start typing! I’m not looking for a novel from you – just a few sentences or a brief paragraph will suffice. And don’t worry if you don’t think you’re a good writer – I’m going to edit your piece to fit within the framework of the book, so I’m honestly not asking for anything too taxing or complicated! If you’re scratching your head, wondering just what types of things to submit, here’s some suggestions for you:

1. Weird eating habits – will your cat only eat in certain places, or do they like certain odd foods, or do they steal food from your plate, pantry, or somewhere else? Do they only eat out of a certain bowl or do you have to go through weird steps to prepare their food?

2. Funny cat in box stories – what is the craziest box your cat has tried to climb into? Will your cat only play with boxes, but not cat toys? Do you keep boxes in your house because you don’t want to upset your cat by throwing them away?

3. Toys, toys, toys – what weird toys does your cat like to play with – do they bring you gifts, play fetch, bury toys, hide toys, etc.

4. Sleeping arrangements – does your cat hog your bed, sleep on everything and anything but cat specific products? Do they sleep in the sink, or in the bathtub, or on your head?

5. Bizarre litter habits – does your cat think outside of the box, literally.

6. Crazy stories about trying to bring your cat to the vet, or trying to bathe your cat, or give them medication.

7. Spooky stuff – does your cat zoom from room to room, or does he act like he’s seen a ghost, or does he jump on your back out of nowhere.

8. Does your cat hide in weird places? Can he open drawers or doors?

9. Is your cat an alarm clock – what creative ways does he use to wake you up?

10. Is your cat loving to some people or family members, but not others? Does he like other animals – such as dogs or birds and do crazy things with them?

And don’t forget, I’m looking at all the oddball stuff you as a human do for the love of a cat. Do you have a rescue story, or a story involving TNR where you thought people might think you were crazy for the lengths you went to capture the cat. Do you sing to your cat, or do you take pictures of your cat in clothes for holiday cards? Or what about weird nicknames – do you have them for your cat?

Yes… I let my cat sleep on my head after I get out of the shower. She likes it… so what other choice to I have? I think you catch my drift now, when I say “the weird things humans do for the love of their cats.”
