Eliminate Pet Odors With CritterZone – Product Review and Discount Offer for Zee & Zoey Readers

kizmetdaisies

Much as we love our feline friends, it’s not always easy to have a home with that “fresh as a daisy” smell when we have to contend with litter box and other related odors.

Being that I have had cats all of my 52 years of life, I think it is fair to say that I have had my share of experiences when it comes to dealing with cat odor issues. From your basic odors associated with litter boxes to full blown urine and spraying disasters that have resulted in permanently damaged furniture, rugs, carpets, and more, I have seen it all. I have also tried every trick in the book from homemade remedies of vinegar and baking soda to remove urine odors to spending hundreds of dollars buying just about every “miracle” odor remover product on the market there was, that more times than not, did nothing more than cause the cats to pee to remark the territory all over again.

critter logoThat being said, when I met the folks at CritterZone last May while I was attending the BlogPaws Conference and they offered me a demonstration of how their CritterZone Air Naturalizer worked to remove strong pet odors from the air, I was skeptical at best, but I politely agreed to watch the demonstration. Even after I witnessed them spray a large dose of ammonia to simulate cat urine on a cloth and the smell immediately went away after being held next to the CritterZone, I still left with reservations. I have 8 cats and the only way I would truly believe the unit worked is if I tried it out on in my own home and the CritterZone people were more than happy to provide me with a sample to try out.

The unit itself is small – 3”W x 4 1/2”H x 2”D – and when plugged into a standard outlet, works continuously to clean the air through a revolutionary technology designed to mimic the natural air-cleaning process that happens outdoors between the sun and odor pollutants. The science behind it is far beyond my comprehension, but suffice it to say, the process virtually eliminates any odors, allergens, dusts or bacteria’s in the air and the bottom line is this, it works. And when I say it works, I say it with 100% conviction and honesty – the moment I plugged the unit into the guest bathroom where we keep one of our litter boxes, I could actually feel the freshness in the air, like when you inhale a deep breath of fresh air when you go to the beach.

bathroom

This is our guest bathroom and you can see that the CritterZone when plugged in is quite obtrusive (it is directly next to the hand towel). The litter box is directly under the CritterZone, which is about a 3 foot distance from the floor.

Now, in all truthfulness, I don’t have a big odor problem in my house to begin with any more. The issues I had with my cats years ago probably could have been avoided all together or nipped in the bud quicker if I was more informed about cat behavioral issues like I am today. I haven’t had to replace a couch in years and even with the introduction of our rescue Kizmet last November, because he was neutered and we slowly introduced him to the other cats, we did not have to deal with territorial spraying issues that often crop up in a multi-cat home.

We also scoop our litter boxes multiple times a day and clean them regularly which should be done regardless of how many cats you have and I am absolutely not suggesting in any way, shape or form that the Critter Zone should be a substitute for properly taking care of a cats litter box. But that being said, no matter how fastidious we are and how many times we scoop, with 8 cats, there can be lingering smells in the air and if there is one thing I am adamant about, it is that I don’t want my house to smell like I have 8 cats. Critter Zone more than steps up to the plate and I cannot get over how clean and fresh the bathroom smells at all times – even when a cat “goes” and I have not had time to scoop yet, the bathroom smells fresh, and for me, that is more than worth the price of admission.

One of the best features of the CritterZone – it is a complete “plug and go” unit. No replacement filters ever needed and no more harsh cleaning chemicals!

The CritterZone has two modes of operation – a high and a low and it can be plugged in continuously into any standard outlet. That was another concern I had – I am quite neurotic when it comes to leaving things plugged in, but the CritterZone does not become overheated at all and I no longer worry about it. Our guest bathroom is of average size and I keep the CritterZone on a low setting. While it does emit a sound, it is so insignificant that you can barely hear it.

As far as odors from spraying or urination on things such as couches and carpets, while I have not tested out this method, according to CritterZone, “it is fantastic for spot treatments for breaking down urine, split milk, and other odor and germ-concerning incidents. Simply place the CritterZone face-down on the affected area. Leave the Air Naturalizer for 30-60 minutes and that’s it!” That’s pretty cool and they go on to say that for deeper and older accidents, “Simply reactivate the area by misting it with water. Place the Air Naturalizer face-down directly on the spot for 30-60 minutes, and repeat 2-3 times as necessary, depending on the age and saturation of the issue. Works for spills, pet and human urine and feces, on fabrics, upholstery, carpet, mattresses and more.”

The CritterZone retails for $89.95 and the folks at CritterZone have been kind enough to offer a $10.00 discount for Zee/Zoey readers by plugging in the promo code ZEEZOEY into the box labeled “Apply Promo Code” at checkout. Please be sure to visit them at http://www.critterzoneusa.com for this special offer as well as to learn all the technical details about this innovative product and to watch a quick and easy video on how to clean and maintain the CritterZone (which is also quick and easy).

Not only is the CritterZone a must for cat loving homes, but I think it would be a great item for rescue and shelter organizations and if you are looking for ways to contribute, purchasing and donating one or two for your favorite shelter would be a fantastic idea. We all want more cats to find homes, so if potential adoptees can come into a shelter environment where the air smells clean and fresh, so much the better chances for an adoption. The CritterZone can also be used for kennels and for caged pets such as Birds, Ferrets, Hamsters, Mice, Gerbils, Rats, Guinea Pigs, Lizards, and Snakes that are continual sources of odor.

So, what more can I say other than this skeptic has been made a complete believer…

I thank CritterZone for this opportunity to try out their product. I was not compensated for this review and the opinions expressed are mine exclusively.

Hmmmm…..if it gets rid of odors so pawsomely, can it rid mewz home of beastie boy little brofurs whose presence is a constant annoyance and headache? Perhaps I will order one..! *runs off to get Mom’s credit card and order a ‘CritterZone Brofur Kaspars Home Eliminator/Purifier’, purring with excitement and snickering in anticipation*

We’ve had a Critterzone for a couple of months now, and it’s absolutely amazing. Well worth the expense!

Cool! Just ordered one for the house. We inheirited two sweet little ferrets, who cause bigger odor problems that the kittehs. Eager to try this… 🙂

  7. Great review! I like that you don’t have to spend on replacements. That saves a lot of money.

  8. meowmeowmans says:

That’s awesome! The nice folks at Critter Zone were enough to give us one for the shelter. They just repainted and stuff, so now we have to figure out which room there is going to be lucky enough to have the Critter Zone in it. 🙂

  9. wow, that sounds like a great invention! If I ever pay off Belle’s monumental vet bill, I will have to get one. I *only* have three cats (MOL) so I don’t have that much of an odor problem. Still… no odor is better than a little odor, right? Thanks for the excellent, thorough review.

  10. We don’t have a huge odor problem either, but the mom is always paranoid about smells. She spends money on air freshners,,,which aren’t real expensive, but over time, the costs do add up. She’s gonna check into gettng one of these because it sounds like an excellent investment.

Wow…that thing sounds like a miracle worker. Also having eight kitties, I worry about odor. I won some Tidy Cats with Glade a while back and found this stuff is working quite well. We have been having buckets of rain, and when the humidity is up, I can usually get some litter box odor, but this litter has been handling it like a champ. I do like the idea of this unit, however. Will check out the company’s on-line info and consider getting at least one to try. Thanks for the review. Janet

  13. This is a great product review. I would love to try Critter zone. We have three beautiful cats in the house. 🙂
