A Momentary Cat Panic at Zee & Zoey’s on a Relaxing Sunday

Hey everyone – we just wanted to take an extremely brief second from our delightful sunlit infused nap to revel in the glory that is Sunday. There’s nothing better than being a cat and spending the entire glorious, wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous day relaxing and taking it easy. It truly doesn’t get any better than this…

Wait a minute…there seems to be a distinctively ominous change in the air…is something going on?

Yes kitties, you are right. There is a distinctive change in the air. It’s me. I’m already feeling anxious knowing this upcoming week will be the last one before the onslaught of chaotic, nightmarish bumper-to-bumper traffic, and horrendous driving to work delays will happen because school starts again on August 21. My normal 20 minute drive will now escalate to 45 minutes or more and no matter how hard I try to remain calm and unaffected by it, I can’t. Traffic delays make me nuts and despite my relatively peaceful nature, it gets my blood boiling.

But honestly guys, I don’t know what the panic is. You don’t drive. You don’t work. And for that matter, you don’t go to school. Your life will remain exactly the same – living the life of deeply spoiled cats who are loved and adored by their humans to the ends of the earth and back.

Actually, I take that back. You’ll lives will chance slightly. Rather than me coming home from work my normal grumpy self, I will be even more grumpy! I will grab my glass of wine quicker than normal, but I promise, you will still be fed nearly two seconds after I walk in the door, and you will be able to look forward to me brushing you, playing with you, and giving you treats like I do any other day…

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you have a day that is as great as the one my cats will have! If you live in Florida like I do, chances are school will be starting within the next week or so for you, too. School starts earlier here than it does in the Northern states, but it also ends earlier, too, so it all evens out in the end!

Whew…for a second I was worried those cozy kitties would be adversely affected by school. Whenever I start to think about getting a “job job” instead of freelancing from home, the word “traffic” puts a quick stop to those thoughts! 🙂

  2. Yup I used to get that same worry too then the peep retired and its all gone calm in this Palace. Of course I still get peep up early, I mean I wouldn’t want the fun of it all to be lost, now would I?
Love selfies from you all, slumbering, just what a Sunday is meant for.

Oh no traffic, yikes! I’m so lucky I work close to home and remain unaffected by horrendous Montreal morning traffic. So grateful I don’t have to cross that bridge! In Montreal it’s all about those bridges and when they’re doing road works it’s a nightmare! NOw imagine when it snows! Ok let’s not talk about winter just yet. Mol
Happy Sunday to all of you and good luck with the commute!

Our traffic is always nutso but it is worse when school is in session, yikes! Y’all are looking good!

  5. Wow your school goes back EARLY!!! I am chomping at the bit for Lenny to start subbing again and that won’t happen til after Labor Day! Ugh I feel for you with the traffic!!

  6. Whew. No reason for kitties to panic. As long as everything remains the same for you, that is what is important.

Great selfies! You made me laugh and wonder what would my kitties do if they thought they were getting ready to go back to school. Curious….

What gorgeous sun-dappled cats! As long as their needs are met on time, there is no need for alarm. *Enjoy your sunpuddles!*

  11. MOL!! Poor Mum, I know it will be a struggle so you guys need to be super alert to cuddle when she gets home!

    Happy Sunday Selfie

  12. Seriously…where did the summer go????

  13. I live on the same street as a busy high school and the constant zoom-zoom-zoom by my front window drives me crazy…but I’m still very happy that fall is right around the corner!

  14. Ellen Pilch says:

That is going to stink more than a litter box .

  15. WE AGREE. Our mom feels exactly the same!!!

  16. meowmeowmans says:

Oh guys, we know your pain! Once school starts in, the roads in the morning are so much more congested. It takes a lot longer to get to the train station. Enjoy your one more week until then, okay? Hugs!

  17. Where I live is just the opposite. I can’t wait for school to start again because I live in a touristic area and the traffic is insane in the Summer. Once vacation is over everything gets back to normal. Have a great week!

  18. Egads, I forgot about the increased traffic once classes resume. Oh bother!
