Writing and publishing a book is a bit like having a baby. It takes several long months before the book is completed and once it is, you share the news like a proud parent who has just delivered a newborn baby. That’s how I feel with Makin’ Biscuits – Weird Cat Habits and the Even Weirder habits of the Humans Who Love Them. Now that the book is done, it seems all I do is post pictures about it on social media and talk about it in nearly every conversation.

But I can’t help it. It’s such a part of me and I’m so excited to share everything about it with all of you. And it seems so do many others – the book contains over 100 submissions from cat lovers across the globe who shared a story or two about a cat in their life and so in many ways, it’s not just my book, it’s theirs too, and I’m so pleased to say I’ve been getting lots of wonderful and positive feedback from those who contributed.

In that spirit, I want to take the time to thank you all again. Thank you to those that took time out of their busy schedules to share a submission with me back when the book was nothing more than a bunch of garbled thoughts on a piece of paper. Thank you also to those that have shared the news of the book or bought copies for friends and family members. I’ve been overwhelmed with your excitement and enthusiasm to be included in the book.

And many days of late, I’ll find out to my surprise that someone has shared a picture of their cat with the book, or a blog post, or a recommendation as a holiday gift for others – all unsolicited without me knowing it was going to happen. That means everything to me, as that excitement means we all embrace the idea of wanting to make the world a better place for cats. There have also been people that have shared news of the book via reviews and other methods that I did know about – I am also grateful for that support  And lastly, thank you to all of you for your patience as I go through this newborn stage. I don’t want to cause Makin’ Biscuits overload, so I do appreciate you humoring me when I share the latest happenings in Makin’ Biscuits world!
