This sweet little Ragdoll named "Girlfriend" was just adopted from the Humane Society of Broward County!!

Since we started this blog last October, we’ve met so many great new feline, human, and yes, even canine friends. Some of you who are recently new to the site, might not be aware that we have a special photo album called “Other People’s Cats” in our “Photos” tab where we post pictures of your cats that you have sent us. I’ll admit that Zee and Zoey are not really fond of this feature, as it takes the limelight away from them. The Reigning Queen and World Champion - our Wildly Inspired Miss Zoey

Nothing against Persians or The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA). Honest. Persians are a gorgeous breed of cats and the CFA is quite a refutable and wonderful organization.

However, several weeks ago when they announced their Top Five List of Registered Cats for 2010, all heck broke lose in our house as Zoey threw a HUGE kitty fit, because not only was the Bengal NOT the number one registered breed, they didn’t even make the top 5 list. Hmmpff. The world literally spun off its axis and pigs began to fly.

Well, thanks to The International Cat Association (TICA), peace is blessedly restored in our household and the earth can continue to revolve around its axis without further disruption. They have just released their 2010 list of the Top Five Registered Cats in the world (thank you Catster) and the Bengal has made top billing as THE NUMBER ONE REGISTERED BREED! Please, so there is no confusion, let me say it again, the Bengal is the NUMBER ONE REGISTERED BREED around the world! So, take that, all of you beautiful, gorgeous, and delightfully personable Persians!

Number two on the list is none other than the Ragdoll (number 4 on the CFA list), and number three, the lovable Maine Coon (number 2 on the CFA list), of which Mr. Jazz and Zee thank the TICA for respectively. Number four is the Savannah and number five is the Sphynx, which was also the number five cat on the CFA list. Now, for me, I love ALL cats and think they all have unique beauty, traits, and personalities that would entitle each and every one of them to be number one on the list. But, for those of us who have had to live with Zoey the past few weeks with all her sour grapes and pouting, we emit a heavy sigh of relief as once again, Queen Zoey reigns and she may rule the law of the land with her beautiful and dainty leopard spotted paws.

Zoey just celebrated her 3rd birthday and has made so many wonderful new human and furry friends. One of these new friends is Christine, who we just found out lives in South Florida like we do. She is part of a rescue organization called Riverfront Cats and really needs our help! Zoey and I are very blessed to have a wonderful forever home, but not all cats are that lucky. It turns out there is a beautiful mother and son duo, Amber and Rudy, who do not have a forever family to love and spoil them like we do. The incredibly gorgeous Miss Zoey… clearly she is aging with stunning grace,  beauty, and style…

It’s no secret in our house that Zoey is the cat love of my life. Besides her obvious physical beauty, Zoey is a highly intelligent, very special girl who means more to me than I could possibly express in words. Yes, she can be a bit moody. And yes, she has a very strong opinion about everything. She growls more than she purrs and can give you a look that will freeze you in your tracks. She also has a less than endearing habit of mowiling (a combination of meowing and yowling at the same time) very early in the morning for me to wake up BEFORE my alarm goes off. Despite all that, she really is a sweetheart and an absolute treasure. When she loves you, she really LOVES you and the volume of her purring then, can shake the house! She has the most adorable prance and when she gaits into a room, her whole little petite body radiates with pure energy and joy. She is my blessing and I adore her, quirks and all, with all of my heart and soul.  

On behalf of myself, Zee, her beloved cat companion and father of her children, Mia, Peanut, Rolz, and Zeuss, as well as Dan, my counterpart and her human Papa, along with her other feline housemates – Jazz and Harley, we salute you and wish you A VERY HAPPY 3RD BIRITHDAY!!! We all love you so much and we look forward to wising you many more birthdays with us ♥  ♥ ♥

… bring May flowers.  Being a fan of flowers (and the bees that hide in them) I like this rhyme.  In theory.  In reality, I hate it.  I hate rain.  Rainy days mean that I have to stay in all day, since the humans don’t like to get wet.  Without them, I can’t go outside.  Rain also ruins the view from my loft.  On sunny days there’s plenty of things to look at through every window in the house, like squirrels and birds, but rain seems to prevent these creatures from venturing out.  Granted, the birds will be back in droves when the rain stops, but until then BLAH!  Maybe I should have titled this blog “Rain Rain Go Away…” and left the second line off.  Don’t bother coming back!
