Wordless Wednesday – The Very Serious Mystery of Bird Feathers on the Floor and Cats Licking Chops…

Umm…. seriously kitties, I’m an award winning blogger with an image to uphold and have been working my little butt off all week trying to educate people about some really serious stuff – the importance of spay/neuter for kittens and dispelling the over-sensationalized cat killing birds debate that has really put our free roaming and feral cat friends in a bad light. So, what am I to think when I see feathers… yes, feathers on the floor… and why is it you are all licking your chops? I told everyone that you are good kitties and that you have never killed a bird. I demand an explanation, pronto! This simply can’t be happening… what is the world to think of you all?

Oh Mia, my pretty little girl… you look guilty as all get out!

Well Zoey, aren’t you just the picture of perfect manners cleaning yourself up after goodness knows what happened!

Oh Kizmet, say it isn’t so… you’re still just an innocent baby…

What? Harley, not you too… You’re to lazy to go outside, let alone catch a bird…

Oh for heavens sake, Rolz… do you have to look so bored about it? You open your mouth right now and drop that poor little bird…

ROLZ… RIGHT NOW, OPEN WIDE!!!!

MOL!! We were just messing with you, Mom!! See… no birds!! We just wanted to play a joke on you so you would calm down and relax for a minute!!!

Yup… there you have it. My cats have spoken and told me to chill for a minute and to just enjoy kitties for the sake of enjoying them! Turns out the feathers on the floor were just the causality of a very well used DaBird toy that has seen better days…. Okay kitties, you win – not only am I going to relax for a very brief minute from the very serious task of making the world a better place for cats, but I am going to re-play  the AWESOME video we did of you playing with DaBird!!  Happy Wordless Wednesday and enjoy – this one is guaranteed to give you a smile or two!

    • Deb says:

Sorry you had to stumble upon this da tabbies, but sometimes the truth can be harsh… Yes, burd featherz… lots of them…

I think the first kitty that Zee wallups is Peanut, then Rolz.

Jazz has never been a burd man. His victims are always dangerous wadded up pieces of paper that he happens upon on the floor…. shudder… thank goodness we have him to defend us from some vile threats…

  9. Wendy S. says:

I guess my girls are “bird killers” too because they love Da Bird. Some people may even think that we’re encouraging our kitties to kill birds with this toy but we know it’s instinct. And Da Bird is harmless and fun. Love the video!

    • Deb says:

Wendy – all we are doing with DaBird is being responsible. We are giving our cats much needed excercise and stimulation – both physically and mentally… so if that means your girls are bird killers too, so be it!!

  11. Don’t let the Smithsonian see this, Deb. Might include it in their kill total. +/- a few billion of course.

    • Deb says:

LOL Michael… this whole Smithsonian thing is like polictics, run off your mouth, then check the facts later… That’s why they hire spin doctors and people for damage control!! I can see the headlines from the Smithsonian now… “BREAKING NEWS – S0-CALLED CELEBRITY CATS, ZEE & ZOEY, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BLOOD CURDLING DEATH OF A DA BIRD TOY… SOURCES REVEAL THERE MAY BE MORE DEATHS, INCLUDING A STUFFED PLUSH STUFFED SQUIRREL AND POSSIBLY A CATNIP FILLED MOUSE…”

  12. MOL!!! Awesome pics or should I say photo evidence 😉

  13. Fisher says:

You are so talented! I love the video and the photos – well the whole thing is fantastic.

  14. Love the video, including the sound effects and background music. We love our Da Bird. Even lazy Abbi runs and jumps.

  15. Connie Marie says:

Oh this is SoFunny!!!! Love the pictures, those cute little faces. Watched the video twice.
Mine ate DaBird so I duct taped a mouse to the pole by it’s tail.
Opps, is that classified as animal cruelty?

  16. CATachresis says:

Love that video!! I have finally got Austin turned on to DABird, but it took a while lol

  17. Great post Deb, but I had to laugh when I saw that video of your Bengals jumping up in the air after Da Bird –
and in the middle of the action, there is Zee, STRETCHED OUT, swatting at the bird and then at the other cats!

    He plays my boys!

Have a wonderful week and as always, thanks for sharing your beautiful feline family with us!

  18. Oui Oui says:

Girls just want to have fun!

  19. An awful lot of chop lickin’ happening there! MOL! Purrs….

  20. meowmeowmans says:

That video was great! We sure are glad deading Da Bird does not make a cat a killer. Because we’d be guilty for sure!

    Hugs,
