This is Waffles looking at his image on the Mike’s Harder can for “Mad Kitty Cocktail.” If you haven’t tried it out you should… it’s similar to a glass of spiked apple cider and would be a great cocktail to serve for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Photo by Glogirly.com.

In continuing coverage of my BarkWorld/MeowWorld Cat Writers’ Conference experience, one of the more entertaining moments was finally meeting bona-fide cat celebrity, Waffles. Waffles was on site with his human, Debbie Glovatsky (aka Glogirly) to host a party in his honor as a result of him being chosen to be the feline spokes face for Mike’s Harder Lemonade “Mad Kitty Cocktail.”

Bypassing all the press, security, and proper protocol, I stopped by his room for an up-close and personal visit prior to the mayhem and pawparazzi that was bound to ensue later on in the night from his throngs of fans wanting a pawtograph from this handsome golden boy. With his new-found fame, I was expecting typical bad boy Hollywood behavior but I have to say what I witnessed up-close and personal was shocking to say the least…

Check it out for yourself…

Upon entry into the room (the security was quite lax – it seems all I needed to do was look like a cat for backstage entrance) I immediately sat down to meet Waffles eye to eye so as to put him at ease. He sniffed me like any cat worth its salt would to determine if I was friend or foe and thankfully I passed his friendship test and he let me stay.

I had thought I had passed the test, but I soon found out Waffles had something else on his mind… apprehending my extra set of cat ears…

He was polite about it at first, gently grabbing the ears from my grip…

What seemed like fun soon turned unexpectedly physical as Waffles became adamant with me that I must relinquish my ears to him…

With all the ears surrendered, including the one’s I was wearing, Waffles turned his charm on me and became a pile of furry love-bug mush as he flirted with me to pet him…

Not the best picture, but despite the blurriness, the evidence is clear… this bad-boy Mad Kitty Cocktail cat was nothing but a sweetheart…

And just like that, as if it never happened, I put my ears back on and Waffles walked away, possibly needing to use the litter box, or maybe looking for treats on the floor…

A special thank you to Lisa Richman of A Tonk’s Tail – she was rooming with Debbie and was kind enough to take the the pictures of Waffles and I!
