Home From BlogPaws… As if it Matters…

cat-swag

Well, I’m back from BlogPaws safe and sound and you can see that the cats are thrilled to see me… Normally I come back with kitty swag overload to bribe entice them back into my good graces quickly, but I am sad to say that I did not even have a single feather toy or measly catnip mouse to pull out of my suitcase bag of tricks for them.  There were dog toys galore at the conference, but for us feline lovers, we were left  in the dust with the exception of several bags of tasty kibble treats.

Once the cats realized I had nothing to offer other than treats that they are already accustomed to getting on a daily basis, they took a brief moment from napping to glare at me and then went back to treating me with the proper disdain I deserved after abandoning them for three days…

I promise once I catch my breath and collect my thoughts I will update you with all the BlogPaws comings and goings for those of you who could not make it. But here’s a hint for you, despite the lack of cat swag, it was fun!!

  1. NO feather wands ??
    NO nip toys ??
    NO new toys at all ??
    Me too would turn my but at you 🙂

  2. The lack of cat swag was mind-boggling to say the least. Cody got even less than you did because he has allergies and cannot eat the treats. He received on little monkey toy…..and a small Tommy Bahama DOG bandana, that’s it.
    Also, I realized that this year I barely took ANY photos and I had spoken to others who didn’t as well. My photos are nearly ALL of food……now you can see why I gained so much weight lol

    • Deb says:

      LOL Caren… I must confess I did not take any pictures of food, but I do have a couple of you and I which I am grateful for!! Yeah, the lack of cat representation was a bit startling, but it’s not like my kitties really need more stuff (don’t tell them I said that)! Great seeing you!! xoxox

  3. The mom says it was so great to meet you at BlogPaws. But we were a little disappointed with what she brought home for us, too. We want toys and treats, not pee and yak cleaner! 😉

    • Deb says:

      Island Cats – we loved meeting your human with the yellow hair and think she is just the cat’s meow!! Your pee and yak cleaner description is so funny, but true!!

  4. da tabbies o trout towne says:

    de cargo load oh rotten fish iz on de way !!!!!

    ~~~~~~~~~~ glad yur mom hada grate time !!
  5. Average Jane says:
    I ended up with some well-received cat toys from Hartz but the best cat swag I got was the Litter-Lifter scoops, which the cats will no doubt appreciate indirectly.
    • Deb says:
      Oh my catness, Average Jane… I totally forgot about the Hartz stuff – they sent me an invite to pick up some swag and when I went to the table, they were not there. Then I forgot to go back… bummer…
  6. Sue Brandes says:
    What no kitty toys? They forgot about the kitties. The shame. LOL. Glad you had a good time.
  7. We’re certainly never ones to turn our noses up at noms, but Faraday was holding out for at least *one* wand toy. After all, she was gone for days…. (though she did tell us she loved meeting you! And that what happens at Blogpaws stays at BlogPaws. We’re not quite sure what that means, but we did smell D-O-G on her clothes when she walked in last night….)
    • Deb says:
      Yes, A Tonk’s Tail… other than the thousands of pictures that will circulate on blogs and facebook, what happens at BlogPaws stays at BlogPaws!! We enjoyed meeting your human and will plead the 5th on the D-O-G issue…
  8. We’ve been hearing that this was a dog-centric blog paws. Sad news for all the kitties waiting at home for new noms and toys. Mommy keeps trying to find out who won the awards but so far only knows that Waffles Too and Glogirly won the Twitter Design Award. Hope somebody posts this info. Blog Paws has not. That’s a pretty great photo. Getting all eight of us in one photo WILL NEVER HAPPEN! Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
    • Deb says:
      Janet – I don’t know the full list, but I do know that Narissa’s Life won for Best Blog Writing, Catladyland for Best Blog Humor, and Mousebreath for both Best Video and Best Meow Blog. I can’t remember the rest off the top of my head, but I’m sure they will publish the results soon!
  9. Cheysuli says:
    No cat swag? How rude is that?
  10. Brian says:
    I must fess up, I loved the swag bag. Not the swag, the bag itself, been laying on it for hours! My Dad, the Flat and the Hat were so thrilled to meet you, seriously thrilled! My Dad said he had ears, but I didn’t get it!
    • Deb says:
      Well, yes Brian, now that you mention it, the bag is quite lovely to nap on… We were thrilled to meet your Dad in person and don’t worry, you’ll find out soon enough what the “ears thing” means!!
  11. CATachresis says:
    Welcome home! I’ve heard all over the cat blogosphere about the dogcentric Blogpaws! 🙁 I am wondering whether there is anyone with enough oomph to organise a conference just for cat people? x
  12. meowmeowmans says:
    It surely was fun! We so enjoyed meeting you in person, Deb! 🙂
  13. This is a PAWSOME photo!
    We can’t get enough of the beauty of the kitties and the poses you caught them in!
  14. Penelope says:
    What!?! Did the cat toy makers not realize this is the BIGGEST event of the year for cat bloggers? (or is there another one?)
    Me was sad that Mommy did not gets to goes, but if she had gone and not come back with some goodies, me would has been sorry me lets her go.
    Kisses
    Nellie
